Description
Ferrispark Records offers this 12” release of Marvin Belton’s “The Letter EP”. Where deep lyrics are combined with a soulful production by label-head, Scott Ferguson.Any Day Now (Elektro Main Mix) has Belton’s vocals float over a stiff and minimal drum loop and bouncy synthetic bass. Drone chords hum underneath self-conscious lyrics about believing and working towards becoming a better person. ‘In The Light’ is a song about finding hope in dark times; Belton’s voice is carried throughout the track by a simple single chord, seductive 4/4 beat, and analogue synth pad. ‘The Letter’ has a combination of stabbing DX chords, an angelic chorus pad, and grinding analogue bass, setting the tone for Belton’s vocals about a brother locked away both physically and emotionally.
