The STANDARD EDITION is pressed exactly how it would have been in 1991 utilizing new photography of the iconic painting to lovingly recreate a fully remastered edition. Featuring the original 9 tracks remastered by Josh Bonati from original source materials, the album includes an extensive booklet with previously unseen imagery and an essay written by Drew Daniel (Matmos) featuring quotes and memories from those who shined darkly: Stephen Thrower, Marc Almond, Annie Bandez, Charles Hayward, Rose McDowall, Billy McGee, Steven Stapleton and Andy Wombwell.
The Dark Red River vinyl STANDARD EDITION is pressed exactly how it would have been in 1991. Limited 2000 copies in a full color spot-gloss single sleeve.
Includes full color printed innersleeve with credits and artwork. Also includes a booklet and double-sided 30th Anniversary card with credits and original front art. Booklet contains an essay written by Drew Daniel of Matmos titled The Side Effects of Life: Love’s Secret Domain, Then and Now which has small interviews with Stephen Thrower, Rose McDowall, Marc Almond, Billy McGee, Charles Hayward, Little Annie Bandez, and Danny Hyde.
