Description
Uzuri, the classically-minded house imprint started by a connoisseur of the genre Lakuti, enters 2018 and its 11th year with release 27. Alexei Versino, one half of Stump Valley, takes “the new year new me” at face value by debuting new project Panama Keys with Virgin Island EP. Returning to the label that put out Stump Valley’s The Wilderness Sessions in 2015, the three new originals display three different personas; Spanish guitar balearicism of ‘Panamarama’, the aerated house of ‘Virgin Island’ and the empyrean ambience of ‘Flying Whites’. On the A2, master of the elongated rhythm, Joe Claussell makes light work of the live percussion and Mediterranean melodies of the original, adding cascading keys and a devilish bassline across a rousing nine minutes.
